On the outskirts of Paris in the 13th arrondisement sits a delightful Brazilian French restaurant, located in the midst of a number of startups in an incubation space.
I probably normally wouldn’t come out to the side of Paris, but a friend lives in the area and invited me to come out to dinner here.

It was really interesting to see this more “surburban” side of Paris. The buildings are more modern, the streets are wider, and in general it's is a lot more quiet and spacious. This neighborhood feels different from the traditional Parisian streets lined with old-school cafés and bakeries.

Brazilian-born chef Alessandra Montagne incorporates all different types of ingredients and flavors into the food at restaurant Nosso. South American influences certainly make the dishes more exciting.

In fact, when I first took a bite of the starter bread, I immediately exclaimed "this taste just like Brazilian cheese bread!” (Which, by the way, is called pão de queijo and which I absolutely love).

My friend immediately replied and said “this is a Brazilian restaurant!“

It’s true. There are some dishes that seem almost completely traditional Brazilian. Yet at the same time, there’s clearly French influence, whether it be the cooking technique, exquisite plating, or the ingredients.

The prices are very reasonable. We had the five course Discovery Menu, which cost 82€ and included 2 appetizers, a fish, meat, and dessert. There's also the seven course Tasting Menu, which costs 98€ and includes 2 appetizers, a fish, 2 meat dishes, and 2 desserts.

We got the 5-course Discovery Menu, which was the perfect amount of food.

I will say that the desserts are very, very sweet (especially for someone who has gotten used to Asian sweets). Still, the meal was fun and it’s a nice refreshing change from a typical French restaurant.
This restaurant is recommended by the Michelin Guide.
