Merry Christmas! Greetings from Southern California, where we are spending Christmas with family that we have not seen in a very long time. There’s a comfort in re-experiencing decades-long family traditions during the holidays. We’re so thankful to be able to come back.
I’m taking this opportunity to try and catch up just a bit on my backlog of posts. I’ve traveled quite a bit this year, but have fallen woefully behind in posting here in this space. I’m still working my way through our month of travel in Mainland China (this past JANUARY!).
I plan to at least write a summary of the year, where I will share some highlights from the past year. For more current updates, feel free to check out my Instagram, Facebook, or even LinkedIn posts.

The pandemic was a weird time that still messes with my sense of time. Even though we were stuck in Hong Kong at the beginning of the pandemic (and celebrated Christmas over Zoom with family in 2020), we did have the opportunity to travel more in 2021 and 2022, which gave us a peek into what Christmas looked like in other parts of the world.
Last year we spent a significant amount of time in Brussels, and got to see the city come alive with incredible lights, decorations, a huge Christmas market, and more. Here are some photos from that time . . .
Festive Street Lights
Each street gets to choose how to decorate its own lights. It was really fun to walk around and explore the light decorations of each street. Some are quite elaborate!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
