    Pammy's Cambridge

    Published: Jan 12, 2026 · Modified: Jan 24, 2026 by Jennifer Che

    Pammys Cambridge

Why oh why wasn’t Pammy’s around when we lived in this neighborhood? For 10 years Bryan and I lived on Mass Ave between MIT and Harvard. As recent grads from MIT, we loved living in that location. We could enjoy the hip vibe of Harvard Square while also being conveniently close to MIT, where I still was involved in a lot of activities.

It wasn’t until AFTER we moved away from this area that some great staples opened up in the area, including Dumpling House and the ever-so-popular (and difficult to book) Pammy’s.

There’s something about the staying power of Italian food in Boston. Bostonians love their Italian food, and if you do it well, you’ll be set forever.

Pammy’s hits the perfect balance of excellent food, convenient location, and reasonable price. The 3-course tasting menu is $84, and you can choose 3 dishes from any section of the menu. You can pick 3 small plates, 3 pastas, or even 3 meat dishes (if you are so inclined). I love their flexibility, and the quality of the food is really, really good.

We both agreed it was a great value for what it offered (especially in this post-inflation world), and we’ve certainly returned several times (and would return more if it wasn’t so darn hard to book!).

    Happy Birthday Bryan!

We came to celebrate Bryan's birthday this time around. We decided to do the tasting menu, where each of us would order 3 items. We figured that between us (if we shared everything), it would sort of feel like a 6 course tasting menu. I ended up choosing more "starter" like dishes from the earlier part of the menu.

    Pammy's Three Course Tasting

Starting on the Lighter side: Antipasti-like Courses

    Pammys Cambridge
Ora King Salmon Crudo: Uni, Leche De Tigre, Crispy Tofu, Nasturtium
    Pammys Cambridge
    Gem Lettuce: Sicilian Pistachio, Strawberry
    Pammys Cambridge
Bluefin Tuna: Baby Heirloom Tomatoes, Lychee, Smoked Sumac

    Bryan's Favorite: pastas!

Spaghetti 2.3: Sungold Tomatoes, Smoked Trout Roe

We remembered their signature Lumache from our last visit and HAD to get it again. It's a fantastic bolognese sauce made with gochujang (Korean chili paste). The pasta texture is fantastically chewy, and the sauce has just enough kick that it's a bit addictive. It's still one of our favorite dishes from this restaurant.

"Secondi" - we only got one

The beauty of the flexible tasting menu is that you can design it to be a lighter at the end if desired. We ended up ordering three starters, two pastas and just one seafood dish, which was the Mackerel: risotto, gold bar squash

    Pammy's Cambridge: General Thoughts

We are still super bummed that Pammy's wasn't open when we lived in Cambridge, but we're happy to still have the opportunity to visit when we go to Boston. Of course, it takes a bit of planning since this place seems to always be booked solid at the last minute. Highly recommended! We had a great birthday celebration for Bryan this past visit.

    Happy Birthday!
