Tosca di Angelo Ritz Carlton Hong Kong

Happy Birthday Bryan!

This year we had a slightly different type of celebration for Bryan’s birthday. In years past, we often would dine out (just the two of us), or have small gatherings with close friends. Bryan’s an introvert by nature and doesn’t really like big parties, so the dinners tended to be small.

This year was different. It was Bryan’s third birthday in Asia. After having 2+ years under our belt in this region, we had started making some friends. Bryan decided that Tosca, an Italian restaurant located at the top of the ICC (tallest building in HK at 118 stories!), would be perfect.

Toscsa Hong Kong

First, Italian food is Bryan’s favorite cuisine. Tosca di Angelo Ritz Carlton in Hong Kong boasts one Michelin star and focuses on Mediterranean-inspired cuisine from Chef Angelo’s hometown of Sicily, Italy. There’s no question Bryan would enjoy the food.

Second, Tosca di Angelo’s location is quite convenient for out-of-town visitors because it is walking distance from the high speed rail, the airport express station, and also the subway (MTR).

Finally . . . . the views and the ability to book a private room! The views from the top of the ICC are unparalleled. They are such a treat for everyone.

The restaurant has a few set menus that you can choose if you want to organize a party. It simplifies things a lot, and usually guests just need to choose between a couple options, such as “fish or beef” and “which starter?”.

Dessert

I actually did not get a photo of the dessert because some of our guests had to leave early to catch the last train out. The servers were kind enough to pack up the desserts into take-away boxes for them to take with them.

General Thoughts: Tosca di Angelo Ritz Carlton

We had a really, really nice birthday party at Tosca. The staff were really attentive, the food was delicious, and overall the experience was very good. Bryan and I even booked a “staycation” at the Ritz Carlton for the night, which was fabulous. The views are incredible from the room, and even the breakfast the next morning boasted ridiculously nice views.

Staying at the Ritz also reduced the stress of worrying about how we would get home, since Hong Kong was still experiencing quite a bit of unrest at the time.

A 5-course tasting like the one shown above costs HKD 1980 per person. The restaurant also offers two other 4-course menus for HKD 1280 or HKD 1480 depending on the ingredients.

Prices are at a premium, but then you are paying for one of the best views in Hong Kong coupled with excellent food in a convenient location. All in all, we were quite pleased with everything and were happy with how everything turned out.
