After seven (!) years of blogging on a simple blogspot template, I have taken the plunge and switched over to WordPress. I’m still figuring stuff out (this is brand new to me!) but I’m already pretty excited by the added functionality of WordPress over my old, old Blogger theme (whose code I had heavily edited and manually tweaked painstakingly by trial and error).
If you’ve always wanted to explore my site but felt that it was hard to search for stuff, please come and revisit the new site! I’ve created all sorts of different visual galleries of different categories, like restaurants in Cambridge, Thailand posts, or different recipe categories, like appetizers, soups, pasta, and even one called “Kawaii” (the Japanese word for cute).
It’s been a huge project just re-categorizing everything, but hopefully it will all be worth the effort at the end. It’s still a work in progress (after all, I have over a thousand posts to categorize). However, I’ve already made quite a bit of progress, and the site is already much more easy to navigate (and find content!) than before.
We will return shortly to our regularly scheduled program. Once I have a better handle on things, I’ll write a post about how I made the transition, along with tips for anything I learned along the way. For now, please enjoy exploring the site!
