What a great find! We found this lovely izakaya just a few minutes' walk from our hotel in Shinagawa. Turns out it's a well-known popular restaurant with many locations throughout Japan!
Tsukada Farm Izakaya serves jidori chicken from its own poultry farms and vegetables from a limited number of contracted farmers. The ambiance is super cozy, the prices are very reasonable, and the food is great.

You order by scanning the QR code and choosing from a large variety of items. Thankfully, there are pictures (and you can also read it in English!).
Fun Drinks!

I decided to try the fun strawberry soda with strawberries! My friend's daughter got the mango drink, which was pretty cool looking with half a mango included!

Fresh vegetables are sourced from farmers that work directly with the restaurant. In general, Tsukada Farm tries to avoid "middle-men", which explains why they also have their own poultry farms.

This interesting dish "Nira kama-dama" (ニラ釜玉) consists of a tightly packed cylinder of Asian chives steamed with a raw egg yolk delicately placed on top. It is interesting. (How did they get the egg on top??). They definitely showcase this on their website a lot, since it's so insta-worthy. (They serve it with the whole egg yolk intact and you break it to become what you see in the photo above.)

The restaurant has its own poultry farms where it raises free-range chickens.
The charcoal grilled free range chicken is their signature, and it's excellent! It's surprisingly black on the outside, maybe from the charcoal. This was one of the best items on the menu, and definitely worth ordering! It was tender, juicy, and just really good quality! (sorry the photo is a bit blurry, but you get the idea . . .)

General Thoughts - Tsukada Farm Izakaya Tokyo
Overall this is a solid place to have a delicious meal when you feel like something a bit more casual, laid back, and simple. For us, it was less than a 5-minute walk from our hotel, so it was nice to take it easy and enjoy such a satisfying meal so close to "home."
I'll definitely keep this in mind if I am craving for simple izakaya food (or just really good chicken!) the next time I'm in Japan.
