There is a sizable Filipino community in Daly City, which explains why it’s such a fantastic place to find Filipino food. My best friend & roommate from college lives in San Francisco now, not too far from Daly City. She recommended Tselogs to me as a great place to meet someone for breakfast (yes, it opens at 9AM!).

I love exploring new cuisines and experiencing new flavors and dishes, so I was thrilled to try Tselog.

For appetizer we had Lumpia Shanghai (pork spring rolls) served with a house chili sauce was satisfying and tasty.
Silogs
The SILOGS are signature, and you should at least get one. They come with garlic rice and an egg.

Sisigsilog ($16.99), chicken seasoned with lemon, soy sauce, onion, hint of jalapeno, served on a hot plate was fantastic, and one of my favorite dishes.

Bangsilog (milkfish marinated in vinegar, pepper, and salt) ($13.99) is also very good.

Lechon Kare-Kare, crispy pork belly in peanut sauce, bokchoy, green beans, eggplant, (bagoong on the side) was quite interesting and tasty, though a bit on the heavier side.

Pancit Bihan - rice noodles sautéed with pork, shrimp, fishball, vegetables, topped with boiled egg, green onion, roasted garlic.
The service is friendly, the vibe is casual (get your own water, utensils, napkins), but the food is excellent.
Highly recommended if you want to experience something a little different and very, very flavorful! It's also a huge plus that they open at 9AM, so it was a great place for me to meet my friend for breakfast.

P.S. Afterwards we walked around the corner and found a lovely alfajore bakery! They looked amazing and my friend picked up several to bring home. Ah, reminds me of my trip to Argentina so long ago! The price was very reasonable, since we were essentially buying them directly from the baker!
