Pleka IFC Hong Kong - Italian Japanese fusion

Published: Jun 24, 2025 by Jennifer Che

    Pleka IFC Hong Kong

Imagine being fully surrounded by glass windows with unobstructed views of Victoria Harbour. An then imagine you were enjoying elegant dishes inspired by Italian-Japanese concepts and flavors. That's exactly what Pleka, located just outside the main IFC mall in Central, is all about.

Although I'd been to IFC many many times (and have dined at several restaurants inside the mall), for some reason I never knew about Pleka IFC, which requires you to walk outside along a nice outdoor patio area before arriving at its front entrance.

It's goes without saying that the views are stunning, but the food was really nice as well. I would say the food is more Italian than Japanese, at least in its foundational core. However, Japanese ingredients certainly show up in many dishes.

We noticed that there's a big bustling bar area (where people were eating more casual food), as well as a more high-end side. I think we must have arrived during "The Pleka Hour" (3PM - 7PM), because we saw A LOT of people ordering truffle fries, fried chicken, and fried calamari! It's was a bit amusing to see the variety of dishes coming out of the same kitchen.

We were there for the tasting menu, which is 6 courses (+ bread), including antipasto, a starter, a soup, a pasta, a main, and a dessert. You choose one course from each section of the menu. Bryan did the normal tasting, and I actually opted for the vegetarian version, which I loved!

    Main Course

My favorite was my vegetarian entree! Look at the amazing display of gorgeous colors. The lighting was mixed, and my photo does not do it justice. It was so beautiful, delicious, and healthy!

Bryan's duck dish with shaved black truffles was presented in an equally artistic and thoughtful way.

The foams in earlier courses brought back flickers of the early days of my food blogging career. The spoonful of "dry ice" ice cream certainly confirmed my earlier senses.

    Pleka IFC - General Thoughts

All in all, we came away pleasantly surprised at how much we enjoyed the meal. Honestly, HK$798 is not a bad price for a tasting menu of this quality, especially with such insanely nice views RIGHT in the heart of Central at IFC mall. I was actually quite surprised something like this existed.

I would certainly come back again, especially if they still have the vegetarian tasting menu!
