Hong Kong has one of the most beautiful skylines in the world. Every night at 8PM sharp the city puts on a fun light show that lasts about 10 minutes.
One great way to enjoy the light show in the comforts of an indoor space (without the crowds) is to dine across the harbour in Tsim Sha Tsui at a restaurant facing the harbour.
A great way to entertain out of town guests is to take them to Ah Yat Harbour View in Tsim Sha Tsui. This well-regarded Cantonese restaurants serves excellent renditions of all the Cantonese classics while also providing fantastic views of the city.
Ah Yat is most famous for its braised abalone, and they offer many types (at all different price points!).
General Thoughts - Ah Yat Harbour View
All in all, Ah Yat Harbour View offers stunning 29th floor views of Hong Kong harbour coupled with very good, classic high-end Cantonese food. Signature dishes include the abalone, fried chicken, and also the fried rice in clay pot (which we did not order). The Michelin Guide also recommends the baked chicken filled with abalone matsutake mushroom and morchella mushroom (sounds amazing!) as well as the baked salty chicken.
The view comes at as price, but overall the food is good and it's a nice way to kill two birds with one stone when entertaining out of town guests.
